CALGARY, Alberta, May 31, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Alveron Energy Corp., (OTCBB:AECP) (the "Company"), is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of Safebrain Systems Inc., ("Safebrain"). Safebrain has developed a unique technological advancement in the field of potentially detecting concussions and head trauma in athletes. It works in two separate ways: 1. The Cranium Impact Analyzer Sensor (the "C.I.A.") is mounted on the helmet of an athlete, 2. The Safebrain Systems software allows in-depth analysis of any impact event and the ability to customize the notification and data logging settings for each specific athlete.
The C.I.A. sensor was designed to ensure compatibility with a wide range of athletic helmets. Several high profile concussions in professional and amateur hockey and football in recent years has continued to fuel the on-going debate - when is a player ready to resume play after suffering impact trauma? With the CIA sensor, the guess work is taken out for the coaching staff. Placed on the helmet, the small CIA sensor accurately measures G-force on all 3 –axis. An LED indicator light flashes to alert the coaching staff when an impact that has the potential to cause a concussion has occurred and in turn allows immediate assessment and proper medical attention.
Included as part of the acquisition were the name 'Safebrain', the Safebrain website, domain names, contracts, trademarks, patent applications and copyrights.
"We are very passionate about our company and the effect it will have on amateur and professional sports. There are over 1.5 million registered minor hockey players worldwide. There are an estimated 1.1 million high school students playing football in the United States alone and 35,000 college football players. Studies published over the last 20 years indicate that 15-20% of high school football players suffer concussions each year in the U.S. According to Safekids.org, as of October 25, 2011, thirty-three states in the U.S. have enacted youth sports concussion-related laws. Player safety is our company's mandate and we are looking forward to assisting coaches and parents on player safety," says Michael Scott, Chief Executive Officer.
The Company believes there is no other product on the market with the advanced capabilities of the Safebrain system.
