J. P. King Auction Company to Sell Home of Country Music Legend George Jones

On July 7, Country Music Legend George Jones Will Sell His Franklin, Tennessee Home, Country Gold Estate, at a Real Estate Auction Conducted by J. P. King Auction Co.

NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwire - Jun 1, 2012) - On July 7, country music legend George Jones will sell his timeless Franklin, Tenn., estate at a real estate auction conducted by J. P. King Auction Company. Jones, who is often referred to as the greatest living country music singer, has combined a desirable location with premier amenities and privacy to create the Country Gold Estate.

"George and Nancy bought this property 20 years ago. They used it for riding horses, fishing and a place for their grandkids to play, and they have kept it in perfect condition ever since," said Terry Ivey, who has partnered with J. P. King to sell the property. "His infamous riding mower lives on in many hit songs, and he still loves mowing and maintaining the landscaping himself, but when you are 80 years old, 78 acres is a lot of land to maintain."

Jones has received numerous awards throughout his career, most recently including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in February. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1992 and has had 14 No. 1 hits in his career. They plan to stay in metro Nashville, Ivey said, at a similar home on less land.

About the Property: Originally listed for $15.5 million in the spring of 2011, the Country Gold Estate has four bedrooms and five bathrooms and sits on 78 acres that include two lakes and two guest residences.

The Joneses designed the home -- both interior and exterior -- for entertaining. The spacious kitchen and elegant dining room give way to an outdoor living area, complete with a heated, salt water pool, outdoor kitchen and a window-enclosed entertainment venue. The kitchen prep area features a fireplace, wood-beam ceiling and high-end appliances.

Located in the Nestledown Farms subdivision of Franklin, Tenn., the property will be offered in five parcels with several improvements that include equestrian facilities, outbuildings, two guest residences and a gasoline tank. Of the five parcels, the first parcel features the main home sitting on 24 acres. Parcel two consists of 35 acres and includes two guest homes. The third parcel comprises the rear grounds on eight acres, and parcels four and five are each five acres near the entrance of the property, just off Highway 96.

Franklin is located in Williamson County, the 17th wealthiest county in the United States. Also voted in the top 20 places to retire and the top 100 places to live by Money Magazine, Country Gold Estate provides privacy and serenity in one of the country's most desirable locations.

The auction will take place on Saturday, July 7 at 11 a.m. at the home, located at 4025 Nestledown Drive in Franklin. For additional information, individuals may contact J. P. King Auction Company at 800.558.5464 or visit the company's website at www.jpking.com.
