Tourist Office of Spain in Chicago Launches 3-Month "I Need Spain" Outreach Program Targeting Direct Consumers

CHICAGO, June 13, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Jorge Rubio Navarro, Consul for Tourism and Director of the The Tourist Office of Spain in Chicago, announces the launch of a 3 month integrated communications campaign carried out through partnership marketing and aimed at direct consumers in the 13-state Midwest region.

"Traditionally, our marketing promotions have been geared toward tourism professionals – travel agents, tour operators, press, meeting planners – but our goal with this campaign is to reach our final consumers through our partner network, targeting Spain travel food and wine lovers who can identify with that feeling of ´needing' Spain," says Rubio Navarro.

Called the "I Need Spain Sweepstakes", the campaign is based on the Spanish government tourist authority´s current worldwide ad campaign whose slogan "I Need Spain" describes a traveler's' longing for Spain – to get there as a repeat visitor because they loved it so much, or because they've heard all about it and are longing to go.  The I Need Spain Sweepstakes offers Midwest consumers the opportunity to win a 5-day, 4-night vacation for two to Barcelona, Including airfare, hotel, tour of La Boqueria Market, a cooking class, and a tapas flamenco dinner at Poble Espanyol.
