GOLETA, Calif., June 17, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Airport Animal Hospital announced that the clinic offers pet dental care. During a dental exam, the veterinarian will check a pet's gum line for signs of infection and remove excess plaque from the teeth. Since pets cannot brush or clean their own teeth, regular at-home care, along with an annual cleaning, is essential to preventing periodontal disease. Pet owners are urged to take their pet's oral health seriously. Without proper preventive care, pets are at risk for gingivitis and bacterial infections, which can enter the blood stream and damage the internal organs.
