Genium INET – Changed trade visibility for clearing members who handle settlement on behalf of multiple participant IDs 54/12

IT Notice 54/12

In the 2.0.0218 release of Genium INET on June 4th, a new structure for settlement propagation between participants was introduced on clearing account level.

As a result of this, a clearing member who handles propagated settlement flows on behalf of another member now also receives a copy of all the propagating member ID’s trade confirmations. As before, the propagating member ID will only see its own trade confirmations.

The trade confirmations are visible in the OMnet API broadcast BD6 and related queries CQ10 and CQ11, as well as in the FIX Trade Capture Report (35=AE).

Trade confirmations are only sent to members designated to get such confirmations.

Members who handle settlement on behalf of several member IDs could previously choose if they would like to see the propagating member IDs’ trade confirmations or if the flows should be completely separated.

Due to the new structure for settlement propagation the option to hide the propagating member’s trade confirmations has now been removed and all trades will be seen by the clearing member. Only clearing members who previously used the option to hide these trade confirmations are affected by the changed functionality.

No changes to the above described behavior will be made in the short term. NASDAQ OMX will assess the need to make any changes in regards to this functionality in an upcoming release.
