MACON, Ga., July 3, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Effective July 2, 2012, CADAM S.A., a leading producer of fine particle kaolin to the global paper market, will restructure its operations in Brazil. CADAM's restructuring will realign the production at the facility with the decreased demand for kaolin, which has been negatively impacted by the decline in fine printing and writing paper end-use segments. These segments have declined in large part due to the increase in electronic media.
This restructuring will right-size CADAM's operations in order to create a long-term sustainable business model. This restructuring will lead to a reduction in workforce and will enable CADAM to streamline operations so it can flex its resources to match its demand.
Ernest Gay, CADAM's General Manager, states, "This was a difficult decision, but one that is needed in order for CADAM to continue to supply high quality clay to our customers while maintaining a long-term sustainable business model."
