New York Technology Leaders Honored for Creative and Resourceful Ideas

SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 6, 2012) - e.Republic's Center for Digital Government and Government Technology, in partnership with the State of New York, honored public leaders and agencies for their innovative use of technology and the improvement of services to citizens and government employees.

The Governor Hugh L. Carey Leadership Award for Outstanding Public Stewardship is presented to a New York public servant who has improved the future well-being of citizens through his/her leadership, dedication and guidance.

Nirav R. Shah, M.D., M.P.H., New York State Commissioner of Health, will receive this year's prestigious award. He is being honored for his dedication to initiatives that advance data collection, analysis, and access to medical care. "Adapting to the economy, these innovative uses of technology are designed to make New York's government more effective and efficient," said Todd Sander, Executive Director of the Center for Digital Government.
