LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 12, 2012) - As a musical preview to AIDS WALK LA, Team Kiku, organizers of "ROCK THE WALK LA, have announced a red carpet benefit concert event at The Mint in Los Angeles on October 7th to raise additional funds in the fight against AIDS and HIV infection for AIDS Project LA and AIDS Walk LA. Hosted by musician, actor, and comedian Hal Sparks, and producer and actress Max Wasa, Rock The Walk LA is headlined by Zero 1 featuring Hal Sparks, and includes performances by Peligro featuring DH from the Dead Kennedys, Kitten Kuroi, and other musical acts, along with community speakers and celebrity guests in attendance.
Rock The Walk LA is spearheaded by Team Kiku #2221, a team consisting of artists, musicians and friends, who have been raising money to combat HIV/AIDS and help those living with HIV/AIDS throughout Southern California since 2009. The Rock The Walk LA Concert is an effort to bring together some of Hollywood's finest musical acts to the stage for a great cause on October 7th, one week in advance of AIDS Walk LA 2012.
The event includes a red carpet and cocktail hour starting at 6:30pm, with the show starting at 7:30pm. Tickets are $20 in advance at www.rockthewalkla.com, or $25 at the door. Proceeds from Rock The Walk LA benefit AIDS Project LA and AIDS Walk LA.
"Since the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, more than 30,000 Angelenos have died from the disease and seven people are newly infected with HIV every day in Los Angeles," says Aisha Humphrey, co-captain of Team Kiku #2221, the organizers behind Rock The Walk LA. "For the past three years, Team Kiku #2221 has been raising money and marching alongside thousands at AIDS WALK LA. Proceeds from this exciting benefit concert will go towards HIV/AIDS education, housing, food, medicine, and resources to help those affected by HIV/AIDS and their families."
