Greenville, SC, Sept. 17, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hincapie Sportswear has announced their Spring 2013 collection, providing cyclists and triathletes with an apparel line designed with their every need in mind. The new collection places a premium on performance and technology, and introduces a highly reflective, state-of-the-art reflective fabric as well as yarns that optimize airflow over the body. The collection combines comfort and style while at the same time maximizing performance.
Hincapie Sportswear's Spring 2013 Collection captures the essence of George Hincapie, who in 2012 rode in his 17th and final Tour de France of his celebrated 19-year career. Having assisted in nine Tour de France victories, Hincapie is uniquely qualified to know what works and doesn't work in cycling apparel. Tested and refined with feedback from the BMC Racing Team, Hincapie Sportswear designs all of its products with the quality and technical function that meet the exacting standards of the best riders in the world. These standards have helped define Hincapie's products and are visible throughout the 2013 Spring Collection.
New for spring 2013, Hincapie has organized its apparel offerings into lines designed for a particular type of rider:
Power Series -- Designed for everyday performance, the highlights of this line are the Power Jersey and Power GT Bibshort. The Power Jersey is made from quick-drying Aerator™ double-weave fabric, which wicks moisture away from the skin, and VenTech™ for freedom of movement.
The Men's Power GT Bibshort is made from AT2 Force™ Lycra Power, providing unsurpassed structure and elastic retention for a compact fit. Shorts feature proprietary coldblack® finish technology, which reflects heat away from the body to regulate temperature while also providing UVA/UVB protection. Other unique features include ABR Resistor™ Lycra in saddle wear areas, which readily resists abrasion, comfortable quick-drying VelociTek™ mesh upper, which wicks moisture away from the body, and the Power GT Chamois for all-day comfort.
One of the most distinguishing features of the bibshorts is the HyperOptic™ Elastane fabric with added tiny pinhead sized eyelets and a reflective surface underneath. In natural light the sublimated colors of the top elastane layer are visible. At night, bright vehicle light shines through the tiny eyelets in the elastane and reveals hidden highly reflective subsurface, illuminating the cyclist to motorists.
Nitro Series -- An essential component for race day, the Nitro Series is essentially a team kit for individuals. The Nitro Jersey is made from TourTek™ fabric that wicks moisture away from the skin. The jersey also boasts an aerodynamic pattern that hugs the body to reduce drag and maximize performance and Accelerator™ stretch mesh for flexible ventilation and quick-drying performance.
The Nitro Bib Short, perfect for weekend races or a fast club ride, is made from durable AT2 Tour™ Lycra® Power, which provides compressive support to stabilize muscles and reduce fatigue while lightweight AT2 Transition™ Lycra® moves and conforms to the body for the perfect fit. The seamless, anatomical, multi-density Pro Chamois with perforated foam inserts and center relief channel moves with the rider.
Edge Performance Series -- With the feedback of the BMC Racing Team, Edge is the ultimate, complete apparel and accessory line with race-inspired design and reflective fabric for visibility. Highlighted by the Edge Jersey and Bibshort, the series offers an aero advantage when every second counts. Jerseys utilize TourTek Lite fabric to wick moisture and reduce drag, Quantum Mesh stretch panels for ventilation, and reflective HyperOptic Elastane for enhanced visibility.
Bibshorts incorporate TourTek Compressor fabric for supple yet durable movement and compression support, quick-drying Diamond Mesh™, Pro Chamois and HyperOptic Elastane reflectivity.
Flow Triathlon Series -- For 2013 Hincapie Sportswear has furthered its dedication to triathlon with the sponsorship of five professional triathletes. They each provided unique insight and feedback through field testing, and Anna Cleaver assisted in the design process of offerings such as the Flow Tri Skinsuit, which provides both comfort and speed in a one-piece design. The skinsuit is made from new RaceFlow with AcquaZero® fabric, which repels moisture and dries quickly. RaceFlow™ fabric also is highly breathable while providing compressive support. The coldblack® finish technology reflects sunlight to keep the body cool.
Designed for Women -- Hincapie Sportswear's Spring collection also features a complete apparel series designed specifically for women. The Chromatic Jersey was created from the start with women in mind and utilizes HyperOptic™ Elastane safety fabric and Lightweight Stretch Countermeasure Carbon™ fabric, which moves moisture from the skin to the outside of the fabric for a cooling effect. The jersey is available in both short sleeve and sleeveless versions.
Updates to Custom Collection
