Intergraph(R) CADWorx(R) & Analysis University 2012 Opened September 24th With Executives Rick Allen and Patrick Holcomb Announcing New Initiatives

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - Sep 24, 2012) - Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis University 2012 (CAU2012) opened Monday, September 24, 2012 in Houston with the morning welcome by Vornel Walker, vice president of Marketing for Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions (Intergraph CAS), followed by keynote presentations from Rick Allen, president of Intergraph CAS and senior vice president of Intergraph Process, Power & Marine (Intergraph PPM), and Patrick Holcomb, executive vice president of Business Development for Intergraph PPM. 

During his presentation, Allen reported on the market success achieved with the new generation CADWorx 2013 release, the latest version of the company's popular AutoCAD®-based plant design solution, and discussed initiatives that will further expand the integration of CAESAR II® for pipe analysis with Intergraph SmartPlant® 3D solutions. He also announced the upcoming release of CADWorx fieldPipe 2013 that will have Leica Cloudworks built in, and a new product, CADWorx I&E, for intelligent instrumentation and electrical design and engineering. Other announcements include solutions that are being developed collaboratively by partners for the generation of orthographic drawings of CADWorx models and for finite element analysis of vessels, piping, and nozzles that will extend the capabilities of both CAESAR II and PV Elite®.

During Holcomb's keynote address, he discussed Intergraph's initiatives to continue its leadership position in product innovation and emphasized the valuable role of Intergraph CAS within the Intergraph family, which is part of Hexagon, a leading global provider of integrated design, measurement, and visualization technologies.

A highlight of the morning was the recognition of the three first-place winners in the CAU2012 Drivers of Success user competition, presented by Elvira Ballard, senior marketing specialist for Intergraph CAS. The winners are FLSmidth, USA for CADWorx; Mott MacDonald, India for CAESAR II; and L&T Chiyoda Ltd., India for PV Elite. Each winner received a free, all-inclusive round trip to CAU2012 including airfare, hotel accommodations, and conference fees. Ballard also recognized the runners up in the competition, each of whom received an Apple iPod Nano or Touch.

CAU2012 is a global user-oriented plant design and engineering conference providing 42 educational sessions for users of Intergraph CADWorx, CAESAR II, and PV Elite, including demonstrations, user presentations, and interactive labs. This year's event sold out weeks prior to opening day with over 300 registrations.
