Berkeley Research Group Adds Environmental Services Expertise

EMERYVILLE, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 3, 2012) - Berkeley Research Group, LLC, a leading global expert services and consulting firm, has added significant environmental expertise with a team of nine professionals based in Waltham, Massachusetts. The group, which specializes in environmental science and engineering, is centered on the practice of Neil Shifrin, Ph.D., who has more than 40 years of environmental experience ranging from Clean Water Act issues involving the Charles River and Boston Harbor to Love Canal in the first days of Superfund, and on to consulting and litigation regarding hundreds of hazardous waste sites throughout the United States.

The Environmental Services team's skills cover environmental studies and remediation, with a focus on data interpretation, problem definition, and solution conceptualization. The group's key practice areas concentrate on valuation, insurance claims, cost allocation, and toxic torts, and Dr. Shifrin has testified in 30 trials and 80 depositions on these topics.

Dr. Shifrin cofounded and ran Gradient Corporation for 25 years, specializing in human-risk assessment from chemicals. He consults on a wide range of environmental engineering topics, including water quality, contaminant fate and transport, hazardous waste site cleanups, and environmental response cost liability/allocation.
