The Huntsman World Senior Games runs for two weeks in October and is the largest annual multi-sport event in the world for athletes 50 and over-this year hosting approximately 10,000 athletes, from 25 different countries. At this year's games, athletes will compete in 27 sports encompassing 122 different sporting events.
As a symbol of what seniors can achieve, this year's torch runner is none other than 69 year-old, Ultra Long Distance Runner, Stan Cottrell. An extraordinary athlete, Stan Cottrell has now run over 200,000 miles-that's over eight times around the world. He's received over 400 awards, has received commendations from four presidents, and has had ten Senate and House Resolutions passed in his honor.
