Based in Saint-Imier since 1832, the famous Swiss watchmaker is celebrating its 180th anniversary with a collection of contemporary, limited-edition, commemorative models which showcase the brand's watch making expertise and commitment to elegance.

Longines Ambassador of Elegance Stefanie Graf welcomed guests to the exhibit - the only place in the U.S. to see the complete 180th anniversary commemorative collection - and invited visitors to preview the collection.

"This is an exciting time for Longines as we celebrate 180 years of watch making," said Jennifer Judkins, U.S. Brand President for Longines. "Since 1832, Longines has stood for tradition, elegance and performance and we're proud to share that with consumers through this exhibit"

The pieces in the anniversary collection reflect the pillars of the Longines brand - elegance, sport and tradition. The Longines Column-Wheel Single Push-Piece Chronograph 180th Anniversary Limited Edition recalls the brand's historical commitment to timing and sport, while the Agassiz 180th Anniversary Limited Edition and La Grande Classique de Longines 180th Anniversary Limited Edition represent timeless elegance. The exceptional Longines Lépine 180th Anniversary Limited Edition piece in yellow gold provides insight into the traditional watch making expertise from the brand's heritage.

With its characteristic single push-piece, The Longines Column-Wheel Single Push-Piece Chronograph 180th Anniversary Limited Edition is specially designed as a reminder of the first chronographs produced by Longines beginning in 1878. It is closely based on the first wrist chronograph, manufactured by Longines in 1913 and fitted with calibre 13.33Z. The new model uses calibre L788, a column-wheel chronograph movement developed exclusively for Longines which enables the wearer to activate the various chronograph functions - go, stop and reset to zero - by simply pressing on the single push-piece integrated into the crown. With its sleek lines and white dial featuring a bright red "12", this model recalls the Agassiz dial of the original version. This model is available in rose gold and has been manufactured in a limited series of 180 numbered pieces.

In the most visual celebration of Longines' 180 years of elegance and tradition, Longines introduces The Agassiz 180th Anniversary Limited Edition watch, a contemporary addition to the collection launched in 1982 as a tribute to the founder of Longines, Auguste Agassiz. This model has an ultra-slim rose gold case with a diameter of 25.50 mm set with 180 diamonds. The timeless style of this time piece, fitted with a quartz movement, is completed by the mother-of-pearl dial featuring twelve diamond hour-symbols. Mounted on a black alligator strap, this sleek and sophisticated model is available in a limited series of 180 pieces.

With its steel bracelet and quartz movement, La Grande Classique de Longines 180th Anniversary Limited Edition is the latest addition to this leading collection which has been a fan favorite for the past 20 years. This ultra-slim model in steel has a diameter of 29 mm and is set with 180 diamonds. Twelve diamonds have also been used as hour symbols on the white mother-of-pearl dial.Fitted with a manually wound mechanical movement (L878), Longines Lépine 180th Anniversary Limited Edition recalls the first pocket watches produced by Auguste Agassiz. This model has a guilloché back cover which opens to reveal an engraved case back also in gold. The white lacquered dial features black painted roman numerals and blued steel hands.
