"Cardinal's intellectual property portfolio, as well as the patent grants we have received and the protection those grants provide, is outstanding. We have very comprehensive coverage of not only the technologies we provide to our core markets, but also innovations we've made that can find applications in other market segments," says Mike Keresman, Chief Executive Officer of CardinalCommerce. "The combination of our intellectual property and established technology capability can provide an IP safe haven and 'future proof' our Customers' needs."

"The platforms protected by Cardinal's IP portfolio support existing systems and can accommodate virtually any legacy system to bring internet, mobile and other remote transactions safely, securely and efficiently to Customers, including merchants, banks, transaction service and electronic wallet providers. We take pride in our ability to create the necessary interoperability with know-how that facilitates new technologies now and into the future," said Chandra Balasubramanian, Cardinal's Chief Technology Officer.

Cardinal's IP counsel, Fay Sharpe LLP, through partner Patrick Roche, stated, "This patent application grant bolsters Cardinal's patent portfolio by broadening the scope of protection for the technological innovations offered by its product platforms already recognized by the various patent offices. This patent specifically enhances Cardinal's coverage for informational access such as medical records while strengthening its transaction processing protection. Cardinal has long been dedicated to protecting its technological expertise and we are pleased to see and aid in its efforts which continue to bear fruit."

Cardinal's patent portfolio now includes 31 issued patents/allowed applications and over 60 applications pending.
