Adrian, MI, Oct. 30, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Jeep fans all over the globe have been requesting more power to ramp up their rigs, yet it's never been a factory option. Enter VWerks, a specialty vehicle builder and off road parts manufacturer, and the debut of its 392 Hemi V8 conversion package for the 2012 Jeep Wrangler and JK8. VWerks' first production Hemi Jeep, nicknamed "Steel-Bender," was introduced at the 2012 SEMA Show with a bevy of serious modifications including suspension, wheels and tires, bumpers, lights and more, all which make up a VWerks V5 upfit package.
"It's no secret in this community that Jeep lovers would like more power," said Pat Muldoon, Vice President of Product Development Engineering. "A Hemi Jeep has never been offered through the factory despite Jeep fans begging for more power and we're here to offer that solution for 2012 JKs."
In addition to the JK8 conversion and the Hemi conversion, which has 465 horsepower and 465 ft-lbs. of torque, Steel-Bender also features a VWerks V5 package, which consists of a 4" VWerks Lift Kit with Bilstein Gas Shocks, a VWerks Steering Stabilizer Kit, Pro Comp wheels and tires, VWerks Front and Rear Bumpers, a Warn Winch, a Rear Bumper Swing-Out Tire Carrier, extreme driving lights, VWerks badging and more. In addition to the traditional V5 upfits, VWerks added its own premium rock rails, a VWerks premium cowl induction hood, a custom paint job and custom wheels.
Currently VWerks offers five stages of dealer direct and customer direct packages, each with increasing levels of capabilities. Steel-Bender features a V5 kit, which is the most aggressive and off road capable package, though four additional kits are offered to meet the needs of whatever capability is desired.
VWerks manufactures individual off road parts such as front and rear bumpers, rock rails and tubular fenders for customers looking to customize their pre-owned vehicle.
