BANFF, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Nov. 15, 2012) - Ski and snowboard enthusiasts will soon be able to experience two provinces in one run, as Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort is set to open the Continental Divide lift on Friday, November 16th.
Above average snowfall blanketing the mountain over the past few weeks have created exceptional early season conditions, as the resort completes its first full week of the 2012-2013 season.
Sunshine Village is also set to open Tee-Pee Town Friday, increasing the resorts offering to an impressive 10 of 12 lifts in operation.
"With such incredible snowfalls bringing an abundance of champagne powder, Sunshine Village is experiencing an epic start to the new season," begins Tanya Otis, Manager of Communications, Media & Advertising at Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort. "With the addition of both the Continental Divide and Tee-Pee Town lifts, Sunshine solidifies its position as world-class resort. Opening these lifts so early in the season puts us in a solid position to offer guests an extraordinary experience."
Sunshine opened its doors to the public one week ago with six lifts including the Strawberry Express, Mount Standish and Angel high-speed quads, along with WaWA, Wolverine and Jack Rabbit quads.
The current snow pack has settled to 73 cm (29 inches), providing a solid base for some great early season groomers. (Skiers and riders are advised to use caution; early season conditions mean there may be unmarked natural hazards.)
Sunshine is famous for its legendary all-natural champagne powder snow and its unique snow farming technique, which uses 35 km of snow fencing to capture the snow on the resort's three big mountains.
