ADEA Launches New Website, Emphasizes Interactive and Customized Experience for Members

WASHINGTON, Nov. 26, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) is pleased to announce the launch of its new website at www.adea.org">www.adea.org. Part of a larger strategic initiative to continually improve the effectiveness of ADEA's member communications, the new website features improved navigability, customized information for ADEA members, and a modern design.

"ADEA is always working to better serve its members, and the new website does just that," says ADEA Executive Director Richard W. Valachovic, D.M.D., M.P.H. "The new site enhances the ways ADEA members can access resources, register for events, and engage with the dental education community. It's an exciting development for the Association and academic dentistry."

The launch of the site is the culmination of a comprehensive effort involving many stakeholders, including a website advisory group comprising a cross representation of ADEA members, leadership, and staff. Last spring, ADEA members attending the 2012 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition had the opportunity to preview a prototype of the site and participate in an exercise that gauged how they would intuitively navigate the site. This member engagement opportunity provided ADEA staff and technology partners additional feedback to make the new site more user-friendly.

Moving forward, the Association aims to build on the progress of the website by creating stronger visual branding across all communications, developing more targeted constituency-based messaging, and highlighting critical information so it is readily identifiable to members.

In addition to launching the new www.adea.org, ADEA is celebrating its 90th Anniversary, with commemorative events in store for the 2013 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition, taking place March 16-19, 2013, in Seattle, Washington.

"As we celebrate our 90th, we are honoring the legacy and envisioning the future of dental education. The new website is propelling ADEA into the next decade of innovation, scholarship, and community," adds Dr. Valachovic.
