GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO--(Marketwire - Dec 10, 2012) - The College for Financial Planning, the nation's premier provider of financial education and originator of the CFP Certification Professional Education Program, announces its 2013 National Conference, Diversity in Financial Planning.
The event will take place May 6-7, 2013, at the Paris Las Vegas Resort in Las Vegas, NV. For a limited time, attendees can register for just $450 per person. A special lodging rate is also available from the resort.
"This year's conference promises to be especially valuable for anyone looking to stay on top of the latest financial trends and earn up to 16 hours of continuing education credit," said John Sears, president of the College. "We have an exceptional lineup of speakers on a wealth of topics that will all be presented in a learning-focused environment. Our 2012 conference was a huge success and we hope to build upon that in 2013."
A variety of presentation topics and working sessions will allow conference attendees to earn up to 16 hours of continuing education (CE) credits over the course of the two-day conference.
The College's 2013 National Conference will focus upon the increasing role of diversity in the financial planning world. Session topics include financial planning for the Hispanic population, same-sex couples and financial planning across generations, and uncovering wealth in a client's executive compensation plan. The conference will also feature a CFP Board Code of Ethics presentation, which is a requirement for those who hold the CFP® certification. A regularly updated list of speakers and sessions is available on the College's website, http://www.cffpinfo.com/conference.html.
The nationally renowned speakers and authors who will lead the sessions are known to provide lively, thought-provoking discussions while delivering useful tips and action items attendees can implement immediately in their own practices.
Speakers include author and minority expert Louis Barajas, CFP®; medical-doctor-turned-financial-planner Carolyn McClanahan, MD, CFP®; multi-generational expert Amy Lynch; Gregory Cappelli, CEO of Apollo Group and Chairman of Apollo Global; and tax law expert and Ameriprise Financial VP Craig Brimhall.
