VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 11, 2012) - Mobio Technologies, Inc., a leading Engagement Network, today released a thought-provoking study designed to measure the social impact of the top 100 music artists in the youth demographic (teens and tweens). The study, called the Influencer Engagement Report covers November 2012 and examines the correlation between social media following, fan engagement levels, and what value that brings to key advertisers and brands. Companion to the report is the Influencer Engagement Index, which rates the 100 music artists used as the basis for the report.
The study was designed to measure the impact an artist has on a consumer segment regardless of the size of their social media following or perceived celebrity status. Artists, brands and advertisers may be surprised by some of the key findings, which include:
- Social following, in and of itself, does not reflect the level of influence an artist has.
- Newer artists with small social followings can have more power than established acts.
- Brands don't need millions of dollars to access artists and their fan base.
- There is untapped social media power with artists (new and upcoming stars) that could be of significant value to advertisers.
"With click-through rates dropping and social media exploding, brands and advertisers are constantly looking for new ways to harness consumer engagement to meet their marketing goals," said Clovis Najm, Mobio founder and CEO. "Using the Influencer Engagement Index, brands can identify the engagement level of a given fan base and leverage that to expand their business reach in a real and meaningful way."
Mobio INsider by the numbers:
To-date, Mobio INsider has successfully engaged between 5 to 10 percent of an artist's social media fan base for brand partners. INsider programs also achieve a CTR of 64% on display ads and 48% of users become new followers of brand partners online.
