DETROIT, Jan. 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On January 16, 2013, Steve Dibert, President of MFI-Miami, an internationally recognized leader in investigating mortgage fraud, announced that MFI-Miami is in talks with the Detroit Chapter of the New Black Panthers to join the fight to keep Amy Plumb, an inner-city school teacher from Genesee County, Michigan, from being evicted by Fannie Mae and their attorneys, Orlans Associates.
"I'm excited about the possibility that the New Black Panthers will be joining us in this fight to keep Ms. Plumb in her home," said MFI-Miami President Steve Dibert, "She's been dealt a bad hand by the Michigan legal system that is clueless about the systemic breakdown and utter corruption of the U.S. financial system. I'm hoping their involvement will get Fannie Mae's attention"
Ms. Plumb, a teacher who specializes in working with at-risk elementary school children in the heart of economically ravaged Flint, Michigan, is a victim of what MFI-Miami believes to be an illegal foreclosure and eviction by taxpayer owned Fannie Mae and their taxpayer owned servicer, Citimortgage.
MFI-Miami claims this nightmare began for Ms. Plumb after she agreed to a loan modification with Citimortgage in 2010. While she was making the modification payments, Citimortgage and their attorneys, Orlans Associates, began a process referred to as "Dual Tracking." The process whereby a mortgage servicer makes the homeowner believe the servicer is working on their behalf when in reality the servicer is covertly foreclosing on them. Since Orlans Associates began this process, Ms. Plumb has made several attempts to either purchase the property at market value or modify the existing mortgage. All of which have been rejected by Orlans Associates.
"It's just not cool to jerk around school teachers, especially the ones who are trying to save inner-city kids from a life of poverty and crime, and that is why I've reached out to the New Black Panthers," MFI-Miami President Steve Dibert explains. "The handling of this foreclosure makes Linda Orlans, owner of Orlans Associates, look like a self-serving hypocrite. It appears she needlessly runs up her billable hours to these taxpayer funded entities when win-win deals can be made. She then openly flaunts her wealth by contributing hundreds of thousands of dollars to both the Republican Party and Libertarian causes that complain about over bloated government."
