IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - Jan 24, 2013) - Orange County Business Council released the following statement today from President and CEO Lucy Dunn in response to Governor Brown's State of the State address:
Orange County Business Council congratulates Governor Brown for his leadership in laying out a vision for California that is bold, thoughtful and innovative. The solutions and reforms presented by the Governor align with the policy objectives of Orange County's business community.
"Governor Brown has already demonstrated his clear analysis of California's most challenging public policy issues," said Lucy Dunn, President and CEO. "OCBC pledges to work with the Governor to modernize the California Environmental Quality Act, break ground on high-speed rail, secure California's water supply reliability, and return local control of education to the community and its teachers."
OCBC commends Governor Brown for his commitment to fiscal restraint, expanding international trade with China, and reducing the record-breaking number of prescriptive and restrictive laws passed by the legislature each year. This Governor's vision, if implemented, will result in a more business-friendly California where companies can innovate, grow and create much-needed jobs for Californians long out of work, especially as the economy begins to recover.
