SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 18, 2013) - Five local government agencies started the new year in style -- with brand new technology in their meeting rooms. e.Republic's Center for Digital Government and Digital Communities Program today announced the winners in the inaugural Win a Technology Center for your municipal chambers Sweepstakes, underwritten by CDW Government LLC (CDW-G), a leading provider of technology solutions to government, education and healthcare customers. The City of Burkburnett, Texas, won the grand prize, and Adrian, Mich., Prince George County, Va., Crowley, La. and Hayward, Calif., received runner-up prizes.

The Win a Technology Center Sweepstakes was open to all United States counties, cities and other municipal governments, and the Center for Digital Government selected five local government winners at random. The sweepstakes awarded one grand prize technology package valued at more than $20,000 to the City of Burkburnett, Texas. The package includes 25 tablet computers, three wireless access points, tablet cart, interactive whiteboard and stand, interactive vote set, laser printer, conference phone, document camera, and one large-format display with supporting accessories.
"The Win a Technology Center Sweepstakes is a great opportunity for the City of Burkburnett," said Tim James, city manager. "The new technology will help us increase citizen engagement, streamline information gathering and disseminating processes and improve overall productivity -- we could not be more thrilled."
The Win a Technology Center Sweepstakes also awarded four runner-up prizes worth an estimated combined value of $11,000. The two first runners-up, Adrian, Mich., and Prince George County, Va., received an interactive whiteboard and stand. The second runner-up, Crowley, La., received 10 Lenovo tablet computers. The third runner-up, Hayward, Calif., received one large-format display with attachment.
