STAMFORD, CT--(Marketwire - Feb 20, 2013) - Protegrity USA, Inc., a leading provider of end-to-end data security solutions, announced today that it has reached a mutually-agreed-to settlement in its patent dispute with Liaison Technologies, which acquired nuBridges, the original target of the company's April 2008 suit. The terms are not being disclosed at this time.
"We have expended extraordinary resources and time to protect and patent our inventions, and are seeing the benefit of these investments. In 2012, Protegrity achieved record-breaking growth as revenues increased 175% from the prior year," said Suni Munshani, CEO for Protegrity USA, Inc. "We are delighted that we can now put this litigation behind us. I feel strongly that Protegrity should receive fair compensation for our hard-earned inventions and look forward to resolving the remaining outstanding patent litigations with Voltage Security, Ingrian/SafeNet and others especially in the payments industry."
The patents covered by the settlement, which are at the heart of Protegrity's enterprise data security offerings, are: U.S. Patent 6,321,201, U.S. Patent 7,325,129, and U.S. Patent 7,490,248.
Protegrity's patent portfolio covers technology important for companies needing to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act) and other federally-mandated data protection standards. The methods and innovations behind this technology are incorporated into Protegrity's data protection software solutions, used by more than 200 leading companies around the world.
"We continue to be extremely active in invention and innovation, and will protect to the greatest extent possible our investment in these efforts, which are enabling us to build our business in an ever-expanding marketplace and retain our leadership position in enterprise data security," adds Munshani.
