Los Angeles, Feb. 28, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SDI Media is pleased to announce Mario Castañeda has been appointed to the role of Creative Director for SDI Media Mexico, effective March 1st, 2013. In this role, Castañeda will oversee all aspects of the creative process for SDI Mexico's dubbing operations, including casting, adaptation, recording and mixing. Castañeda will also be responsible for finding and grooming new dubbing talent in Mexico, laying the foundation for the future of SDI Mexico, and further strengthening the proud dubbing tradition in Mexico City.
In addition to his duties specific to SDI Mexico, Castañeda joins SDI's global team of dubbing experts - a team who works together to continuously improve SDI's global workflows and localization technologies.
Castañeda brings an outstanding breadth of dubbing experience to SDI. With almost 30 years in the dubbing industry, Castañeda has excelled as an actor, translator, and dialogue director. He has a first-hand understanding of the entire dubbing process. As a voice dubbing actor since 1983, Castañeda is credited for major theatrical roles, including 20+ years as the voice of Bruce Willis and Jim Carrey, as well as a long list of starring roles in broadcast productions including "Wonder Years", "Friends", "Seinfeld", and "Desperate Housewives."
In addition to his success as a voice actor, Castañeda is one of the most experienced and esteemed Dubbing Directors in Mexico, having most recently directed the LAS versions of high-profile titles such as "Brave", "Cars 2", "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", and "The Muppets". Long committed to designing and developing techniques for a perfect, natural delivery of dialogue and lip-sync, Castañeda will now have the opportunity to impart his years of training with SDI Media and its clients.
"In my experience as a Dubbing Director I have learned that the dubbing process is all about successful teamwork," Castañeda states, "teamwork between the translator, the director, and the actor - each part is important, and deficiency in one of them affects the whole team" he continues, "As Creative Director of SDI Media Mexico, it is my responsibility to ensure everyone on the team is working together to deliver the quality and efficiency that meets the standards of SDI and, more importantly, SDI's clients."
"SDI Media Mexico is quickly expanding both its capacity and capabilities. As we continue this growth it is important we have an experienced Creative Director in place who is capable of managing both the creative aspects of our dubbing projects, as well as the entire workflow," said Richard Andrews, SDI Media's President of the Americas.
