Great Northern Catskills of Greene County Announces Summer Music Festival Line-up

Award-Winning Bands to Play at Catskill Venues Throughout 2013


LEEDS, N.Y., March 11, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Great Northern Catskills of Greene County will host a series of music festivals this summer, spanning cultures and genres to create a historic line-up of award-winning performers, bands and musicians.

Catskills summer music festivals kick off with the East Durham Irish Festival at the Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural & Sports Centre May 25 and 26. This year promises one of the most exciting line-ups ever with performances by Black 47, Shilelagh Law, Celtic Cross and many more from across the United States and Ireland. Tickets start at $12. The fun continues July 14-20 during the Catskill's Irish Arts Week in East Durham, offering seven days of Irish music, dancing, vendors, crafts and family-friendly entertainment. Experience Irish culture and participate in painting workshops, jewelry making, weaving and carving classes. The festival concludes with the Andy McGann Traditional Music and Dance Festival on July 20. Tickets are $20.

9th Annual Mountain Jam at Hunter Mountain is one of the top three-day music festivals in the country. The revelry kicks off June 6 with performances by Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Lumineers, The Avett Brothers, Phil Lesh & Friends and more. Taste of Country Music Festival at Hunter Mountain begins June 13 with three days of star-studded country music and entertainment. The festival features Lady Antebellum, Montgomery Gentry and Hunter Hayes, as well as Trace Adkins, Billy Currington, Joe Nichols, Gloriana, Justin Moore, Dustin Lynch, Blackberry Smoke and Willie Nelson & Family. Ticket packages start at $120 for all three days of live music.

Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival at Walsh Farm in Oak Hill is slated for July 18-21. This family-friendly outdoor musical festival is an annual favorite, featuring live bluegrass and acoustic music, workshops, activities, jam sessions, food and craft vendors and on-site camping. Early bird tickets are available until March 15 and include full festival and camping admittance for $160 per person.
