SAN DIEGO, March 11, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Royale Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq:ROYL) announced that its new Dorset well has been completed with a flow rate of 1.375 million cubic feet per day. This well is among the most successful of more than 31 wells Royale has drilled in the Sacramento Basin on proprietary 3D seismic data.
The most recent evaluation by Royale's independent reserve engineering firm, considered sand thickness, depth and areal extent in their estimate of 2.2 billion cubic feet of natural gas to be produced from this discovery. The Dorset well confirms the company's optimism for this year's drilling schedule. The company is currently funding the nearby Wembley prospect in its Forbes-B oil and natural gas drilling project to be drilled later this year. The Zodiac well located one half mile north will begin drilling next month. Three additional permits are being filed to drill on Royale's 3D seismic.
