Concurrent Technologies Corporation to Showcase Innovative Technologies and Solutions at Navy League's Sea-Air-Space Exposition

JOHNSTOWN, Pa., March 28, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) will showcase its capabilities and award-winning innovations at the 2013 Sea-Air-Space Exposition at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD, from April 8–10, 2013. CTC will exhibit in space number 2817.

The Navy League's Sea-Air-Space Exposition is the largest maritime exposition in the United States and brings the U.S. defense industrial base, private-sector U.S. companies and key military decision makers together for an annual innovative, educational, professional and maritime based event. Started in 1965, Sea-Air-Space has grown to include over 170 participating organizations and over 11,500 attendees.

"As the largest maritime expo, Sea-Air-Space allows us an unmatched opportunity to meet with clients, partners, and decision makers regarding maritime innovation and technology," said Paul Essig, CTC Executive Director, Advanced Engineering & Manufacturing. "At CTC, our number one priority is delivering the best possible solutions for our clients. At the Expo, we will showcase several projects and programs that reduce costs and increase the capabilities of the Navy, other services and government agencies."

CTC will highlight a number of innovative technologies and solutions that have assisted, and will continue to assist, the Navy League with their mission of maritime policy education and sea service support.

  • Laser Coatings Removal System. CTC's award-winning laser coatings removal system uses a continuous wave laser to strip paint and other coatings from aircraft. It replaces the abrasives or chemical paint removers used in traditional coating removal processes, which generate significant hazardous wastes and air emissions. The laser can selectively remove coatings, and a custom HEPA system safely collects debris as it is removed from the aircraft, minimizing its impact on the environment.
  • U.S. Navy Carriage, Stream, Tow, and Recovery System (CSTRS). CSTRS mounts to the MH-60S helicopter and enables the U.S. Navy's new littoral combat ships to readily respond to mine threats, providing an extra measure of safety for crew and ships. In addition, the CSTRS design is modular and is capable of supporting the deployment requirement of multiple mine sensors that provide a range of mine countermeasures objectives.
  • Navy Metalworking Center (NMC). For 25 years, CTC has operated the Navy Metalworking Center (NMC), an Office of Naval Research ManTech Center of Excellence. NMC has supported the Navy's evolving needs by developing and transitioning innovative metalworking and manufacturing solutions. In collaboration with its government and industry partners, NMC improves manufacturing and shipyard processes through advanced metalworking, joining and coating technologies, as well as design for manufacturability tools.
  • Mobile Development Capabilities. CTC develops cutting edge secure mobile applications for a variety of operating environments including Android, iOS, Blackberry, and mobile web applications. Applications are developed quickly through the use of an extensive mobile code library of reusable components. CTC offers a broad and wide-ranging variety of mobile development capabilities such as: Mobile Security, Cross-Platform Applications, Geospatial Rendering on a mobile device, SharePoint and cloud integration, and E-Learning.
