NorthStar Ford Group Raises $106,000 for Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation & Edge School Foundation at Second Annual Charity Poker Tournament

CALGARY, AB--(Marketwire - Mar 29, 2013) - NorthStar Ford in Calgary, Cochrane, Fort McMurray and Fort McKay recently raised more than $106,000 for Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation and the Edge School Foundation during the second annual NorthStar Ford Group charity poker tournament held March 3, 2013.

There were 128 players who participated in the tournament and the lucky winner was Michael Fouts of Fort McMurray. In addition to the poker tournament, NorthStar Ford Group hosted a dinner, recognizing the generous sponsors and donors who helped make the event possible. Aside from poker, the event included a silent auction, jersey auction, jersey bounty, a raffle to win a 2013 Ford Edge and a live auction including a private jet trip to Fort McMurray to play golf and the one-on-one dinner with a meet and greet with Mark Messier.

The event provided monetary funds to Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation and Edge School Foundation. Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation provides funds for excellence in child health, research and family centered care. Edge School Foundation secures friends and funds through building relationships to support the Edge School in areas such as programs, scholarships, financial aid, endowment and capital campaigns. Funds that went to the Edge School Foundation were specifically dedicated to students that require financial aid in order to be able to enroll in either the Calgary or Fort McMurray program.
