Hart Energy's Energy Capital Conference: It's Not All About the Money

HOUSTON, May 1, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hart Energy, a leading provider of news, data, analysis, and events for the global energy industry, announced today its 6th annual Energy Capital Conference, hosted by its flagship publication, Oil and Gas Investor. The best dealmakers and the sharpest minds in the trade will gather at the Houston Omni Hotel June 17-18 to share their insights and experience.

This year's event addresses "capital" in the broadest sense — asset capital, intellectual capital, and financial capital — and it takes place in the world's energy capital.

Stephen Moore, economist and editorial board member, The Wall Street Journal, will give the opening keynote, "Energy Trends and the U.S. Economy" at 8:40 a.m. on June 18. Moore closely observes the U.S. economy, including budget, tax, and monetary policy. He will offer his perspective on where the economy is headed and how the thriving U.S. oil and gas industry will play a major role.

"We're excited about our speakers and topics this year," said Leslie Haines, editor-in-chief, Oil and Gas Investor. "We're providing a lot of value by addressing issues common to all CEOs, chief financial officers, chief operating officers, and other managing executives — things like reducing drilling costs, finding the right kind of capital, the coming merger and acquisition wave, and succession planning. This is where the rubber meets the road for executives."

On June 17, back by popular demand, a half-day exploration and production (E &P) start-up workshop will be held where attendees will hear from experts on how to structure the deal, where to find the capital, and what they will need in a management partner. Plus, CEOs from select E &P companies will offer their first-hand accounts on how they turned their idea into a sustainable and successful business.

The conference will also host the 10th annual Oil and Gas Investor "Excellence Awards" on June 18. The magazine's editors will recognize outstanding individuals and companies that have had a significant impact on company results in communities in which they work, or upon the entire industry. Winners of these prestigious awards are nominated by the magazine's readers.

During the event, and in the June 2013 issue, Oil and Gas Investor will recognize "Twenty Under 40," 20 younger E &P professionals whose entrepreneurial spirit, creative energy, and intellectual skills set them apart. Seasoned attendees will have the opportunity to engage with these up-and-coming leaders of the industry.
