BounceU Concludes Make-A-Wish(R) Fundraising Campaign in a Big, Big Way

BounceU Locations Across the Country Host "Big, Big Bounce" Event on May 22

TEMPE, Ariz., May 15, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BounceU, a popular franchise that fulfills the birthday wishes of children around the country with its lively, whimsical parties, brings its campaign with Make-A-Wish to a close with a national fundraising event.

On the heels of their April 29 campaign launch, BounceU announces the culmination of their fundraising efforts with a system-wide "Big, Big BounceSM" event. BounceU locations nationwide will join together on Wednesday, May 22 offering families across the country an opportunity to help turn their goal of raising $50,000 into reality.

"BounceU sought a partnership with Make-A-Wish because we believe our core mission and values are in alignment," said BounceU CEO Lee Knowlton. "In doing so, we renewed franchisee interest in the brand while securing overwhelming support and excitement for the campaign and the Big, Big Bounce Event."

Each of BounceU's 51 locations will host an open bounce session on May 22, and 100 percent of donations will benefit Make-A-Wish. In addition to the open bounce, locations will be offering a variety of different activities like face-painting, balloon twisting, arts and crafts and refreshments for local families.

"We are already well on our way to reaching our goal of raising $50,000 for the organization, and we want to say 'thank you' to all of the families that have already joined with us in supporting this great cause," Lee added. "We're looking forward to exceeding our goal and having the public join in at our Big, Big Bounce event to help grant the wishes of children across the country."

In the four weeks leading up to the Big, Big Bounce event, BounceU locations nationwide have been hosting ongoing events and promotions to benefit Make-A-Wish. BounceU locations have been offering paper "Wish Candles" for $1 each in addition to hosting "Make-A-Wish Wednesdays" bounce sessions every Wednesday.

"Both BounceU and Make-A-Wish work to create experiences that serve as a celebration of life, making this relationship a perfect fit," said David A. Williams, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America. "Through its support, BounceU is making birthdays more than just milestone events – the company is helping Make-A-Wish deliver hope, happiness, and a renewed sense of possibility to kids with life-threatening medical conditions."

About Make-A-Wish

Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true can have positive impacts on the health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illnesses, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen the entire family. Based in Phoenix, Make-A-Wish is one of the world's leading children's charities, serving children in every community in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and more than 25,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants a wish somewhere in the country every 38 minutes. It has granted more than 226,000 wishes since its inception in 1980; nearly 14,000 in 2012 alone. Visit Make-A-Wish at wish.org to learn more.
