LOS ANGELES, May 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Notary Association will host an unprecedented gathering of executives from the nation's major lenders and title companies at its 35th annual Conference in Austin, Texas, June 2 – 5 to discuss how the industry is transforming, and why Notaries play a vital role in those changes. The executives will present the industry's view of the new mortgage regulations taking effect in January, 2014, which are being implemented as a result of the "robo-signing" crisis.
The annual Conference draws hundreds of Notaries representing almost every state in the country and British Columbia, who attend to augment their professional knowledge, certification and skills in the face of a rapidly evolving industry. Notarization is an essential safeguard in preventing mortgage fraud, as it assures that buyers' signatures are authentic and that the transaction can be trusted.
"The participation at this year's NNA Conference amongst industry leaders from the mortgage and title industries illustrates the increased importance being placed on Notary performance in real estate transactions," said Chris Sturdivant, NNA's Director of Business Development. "The executives in attendance oversee over 80 percent of the refinance activity nationwide, and they will be there to communicate their expectations and requirements directly to Notaries. The face-to-face interaction between senior level executives from the mortgage industry and over 600 conference attendees is unprecedented on such a large scale."
Somaia "Sam" Zaki, Managing Director of Sales for First American Mortgage Services is the keynote speaker for the opening General Session. Other industry representatives will participate in workshops, panel discussions, and an evening event designed to bring Notaries and their largest employers together to address common industry goals.
