COSTA MESA, Calif., June 3, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Morgan Drexen Integrated Systems, a leading provider of software and back office support services to businesses nationwide, is kicking off the summer season with a pair of fun fundraisers. The company held a "Denim Day" Friday, May 31, in which employees were allowed to wear jeans to work for a $5 donation to CHOC Children's hospital.
The following day, Saturday, June 1, Morgan Drexen (http://morgandrexen.com) held its annual Employee Summer Appreciation Party, treating its approximately 300 workers to a Hawaiian Luau at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort in Newport Beach, CA. The lavish event featured food, music and games, as well as a raffle with all proceeds benefitting the hospital.
"Our summer party is all about saying 'thank you' to our hard-working employees," said Walter Ledda, Morgan Drexen CEO. "But we're always mindful of those who are struggling in our community. We thought holding a 'Denim Day' on Friday then raising money at our summer party the next day was the perfect way to mix the spirit of fun with the spirit of giving. I can't think of a better way to launch the summer season."
A number of local businesses donated items and gift certificates for the Luau, including Subway, In-N-Out Burger, South Coast Metro Alliance and Back Bay Bistro.
The items were bundled into gift bags to be handed out as part of the charity raffle.
Morgan Drexen partners with approximately a dozen non-profit groups, both locally and nationally, helping to raise money and awareness for a wide spectrum of worthy causes. Most recently, employees extended their arms in early May to donate blood to the American Red Cross. It was the second blood drive held at Morgan Drexen headquarters this year. Additionally, the company has raised tens of thousands of dollars for numerous charities, including a pledge of more than $30,000 for Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children's).
