BOSTON, MA and SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 19, 2013) - Two years after launch, Mobiquity (www.mobiquityinc.com), a mobile solutions firm creating innovative enterprise-class apps that drive business value, today announced the opening of a new full-service office in San Francisco. Mobiquity has tapped former NetSuite and Appirio vice president Justin Foster to lead the San Francisco office, which will be home to more than 50 employees engaged in strategy, user experience and design, development, and product management. The office, located in the South of Market (SoMa) district, San Francisco's technology hub, will serve Mobiquity's growing number of West Coast-based customers, including Alliant Insurance Services, Vancouver International Airport and 3RB, an iPad/Mac-based collaboration service for TV production.
"Mobiquity's unique ability to combine mobile strategy, thoughtful user-centered design and integration into our backend processes allows us to provide our customers with a better experience," said Ilene Anders, CIO, Alliant Insurance Services, a California-based insurance broker.
The San Francisco office opening follows Mobiquity's $12 M Series B that was announced earlier this month, and marks the Massachusetts-based company's ninth regional office, following Atlanta, Gainesville, Philadelphia, New York City, Providence and other locations. Mobiquity's employee count has increased to over 180 to meet surging demand across a range of industries, including pharma and healthcare, retail, financial services, and travel and hospitality. Revenues increased 600 percent over Mobiquity's first full year (2012), and Q1 2013 represented the company's best quarter to date.
"We believe that geographic expansion is critically important to our success. We will continue to grow rapidly by expanding our presence with existing clients and by developing new geographies to reach a larger base of prospects," said Bill Seibel, Mobiquity founder, chairman, and chief executive officer. "We will support expansion by continuing to recruit and retain the right people in a competitive hiring environment. With Justin's rich industry pedigree and proven ability to grow successful organizations, it's clear he is the right person to drive Mobiquity's West Coast presence."
A northern California native, Foster has successfully launched and managed several professional services over the past 20 years. Foster was a founding member of Cambridge Technology Partners in San Francisco, where he held several technology consultant and leadership positions. Most recently he held several executive positions with Appirio, helping grow the cloud computing consulting firm from fewer than 50 employees to more than 600.
"With top-tier talent, customers and service capabilities, Mobiquity has established substantial momentum and credibility in a short period of time," Foster said. "It is an ideal time to join a company that views mobile as a game-changer for enterprises and is committed to identifying and working on innovative projects. My career has been shaped by a love of building and growing new teams with rich, unique cultures, and I'm very excited for the opportunity to do so with Mobiquity as it expands to an important market."
Mobiquity's momentum has not gone unrecognized; in April 2013 it was named the top mobile startup in Boston, a mobile technology hotbed, by the Boston Business Journal.
