RightScale in Australia
Today's announcement builds on RightScale's existing business in APAC and in Australia, in particular. According to the October 2012 Cloud Computing Market Research Report from IBISWorld*, the adoption of cloud computing continues to grow in Australia, total industry revenue in 2012 was expected to be $1.24 billion, up 7.8% from 2011.
Examples of RightScale momentum in the region include:
- Local professional support: RightScale's Asia-Pacific efforts are headquartered in Sydney and headed up by Giri Fox, an IT veteran with a background in enterprise client management at leading organisations such as Cisco, Apple and IBM. RightScale also has offices in Korea, Japan and Singapore.
- Customers: RightScale's customer list in Australia and in SE Asia continues to grow. An increasing number of companies are relying on RightScale technology to migrate hundreds of applications from dedicated on-premise hardware to hybrid clouds.
- Multi-cloud support: RightScale is a multi-cloud platform and announced integration and support for Amazon AWS Australia in November, 2012. RightScale also supports Windows Azure, which Microsoft announced will have data centres in Australia in the future.
Survey Shows Enterprise Adoption Gains Steam; Shows Increasing Preference for Multi-Cloud
