In 1987, 2 year-old Jermaine Mann was taken from Toronto, Ontario, by his father, Allan Mann, during a visitation. His mother, Lyneth Mann-Lewis had sole custody at the time of his abduction and a Canada-wide warrant was issued for his father, now aged 61 years. Jermaine has not been seen since.
Allan Mann is known to have contacts, and relatives in the United States, specifically the Eastern Seaboard and the LA area, and Ghana. It is believed he may have travelled to Ghana with Jermaine via the United States.
Recently, the Missing Children society of Canada (MCSC) received a call from the Canadian High Commission in Ghana stating that a male aged approximately 27 years has reported to the High Commission. The man believed he had been abducted from Canada as a child. After further investigation, it was decided that the unidentified male might be Jermaine. Maxxam Analytics' internationally-recognized DNA laboratory agreed to conduct DNA testing on both the male in Ghana and Mrs. Mann. Unfortunately, the results were not a match and Mrs. Mann was excluded as the biological mother. However, MCSC believes that this information has opened up a valuable line of inquiry and it is only a matter of time before we will be able to find answers in this case.
"MCSC routinely receives tips on missing child cases and we were recently able to solve an abduction that occurred over 18 years ago," said Ted Davis, Senior Investigator, MCSC. "Jermaine and his mother still have a chance to form a relationship and I truly believe that they are owed that. Someone knows where Jermaine is. Please come forward and allow them to be reunited."
For the past 26 years, Jermaine's mother, Lyneth, has never given up hope that she will see her child again. She wants Jermaine to know that he has always had a mother who loves and misses him and would very much like to be a part of his life.
