PLMA Demand Response Dialogue Webinar Series Takes Provocative Look at Energy Utility of the Future With Phil Davis, Schneider Electric and Rich Philip, Duke Energy

VALLEJO, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 16, 2013) - The Peak Load Management Alliance (PLMA) today introduced a new kind of webinar that allows for more dialogue with focused discussion with an energy industry thought leader. "A Provocative Look at the Utility of the Future with Phil Davis, Schneider Electric" will be the first in the series on Tuesday, July 23, at 12:30 p.m. Eastern.

This first PLMA Demand Response Dialogue will share insight from Phil Davis, author of "A Provocative Look at the Utility of the Future," a June article published in Powergrid International, in conversation with PLMA Vice Chairman Rich Philip who is a Product Manager with Duke Energy. In the recent article, Phil Davis observes that Integrated Demand Response, Microgrids and Grid-size Optimization is ushering in fully integrated smart grid -- from the control center to the customer. Phil Davis predicts the Utility of the Future won't look so different from the utility of today because generation, transmission and distribution will remain, as will control rooms, customer service and customers. But he says what will change are the attitudes, processes and relationships of suppliers and customers, perhaps in ways similar to a smart phone ecosystem.

Phil Davis is Senior Manager of Smart Grid Solutions for Schneider Electric. Among his recent credits is the design and installation of a groundbreaking "intelligent building system" at Rockefeller Center in New York.

For this new kind of webinar, registrants may submit a comment or question in advance. After brief introductions, the two speakers will have an informal 30-minute conversation where registrants may just listen in or submit follow-on comments or questions. To learn more and register for the free webinar, visit www.peaklma.org.
