WASHINGTON, Aug. 5, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Executive Director of the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC), Nicole Lamoureux Busby, has been named one of the top executives in the non-profit sector by The NonProfit Times, the leading publication for the sector.
According to The NonProfit Times, its 2013 Power and Influence Top 50 list celebrates "the executives moving and shaping the nonprofit world." The article highlights the work of the NAFC, staff and membership with the following: "There are a few million unnecessary emergency room visits every year. For those who suffer though without medical assistance there is a network bringing free care to a town near you whose national infrastructure could meet in a phone booth. For those who don't remember phone booths, it's a great analogy. You could fit, maybe, three people in them."
As the Executive Director of this fairly young organization, Lamoureux Busby has grown the organization exponentially in a short time through press and media exposure, increased membership and benefits, public awareness of NAFC member clinics and their staff, patients and volunteers, and much more. As for the phone booth reference, Nicole does all of this with the help of just two other staff members, making a total of three.
