SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS--(Marketwired - Sept. 16, 2013) - AssetWorks Inc., a leading provider of software solutions to asset- and infrastructure-intensive businesses, today announced that the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHSC) at San Antonio has signed a contract for Scan & Validate™, a mobile inventory software solution from AssetWorks. The solution can help UTHSC San Antonio maintain proper stewardship of its assets and reduce the amount of time it takes to complete a physical inventory.
With eight campuses spread across four cities, UTHSC San Antonio can rely on Scan & Validate for a more streamlined approach to conducting inventories. Bar code scanners provide users with the ability to scan items, edit asset information, and run missing items reports while in the field, helping the university conduct physical inventories quickly and with minimal disruption. Through a file exchange with UTHSC San Antonio's current asset management system, Peoplesoft, Scan & Validate can help ensure asset records are accurate and up-to-date for reporting purposes.
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio has various campuses in San Antonio as well as campuses in Laredo, Harlingen and Edinburg. Ranked in the top three percent of institutions receiving National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding, UTHSC San Antonio has an annual enrollment of approximately 4,500 students, residents, and fellows and manages over 22,000 fixed assets from acquisition through disposal. An existing AssetWorks customer, the University currently relies on the AiM™ integrated workplace management system (IWMS) to manage operations and maintenance and property portfolio for 79 buildings and 3.5 million square feet of classrooms, offices and research facilities.
