Brad Markoff Returns to Private Practice, Joins Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp as Of Counsel in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 23, 2013) - Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP (MS&K), one of the premier entertainment and business law firms in the U.S., today announced that Brad Markoff has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the Los Angeles office, where Markoff is a member of MS&K's Corporate Practice.

Markoff comes to MS&K after serving as managing director and general counsel of Encore Asia Ltd., a Hong Kong-based real estate investment firm. Prior to joining Encore, Markoff was a senior partner at three of the world's largest law firms: Locke Lord, where he was managing partner of the Hong Kong office and chair of the firm's Asia Practice; DLA Piper (Hong Kong and USA), where he was co-chair of the Global Real Estate Capital Markets Practice; and Alston & Bird, where he was chairman of the Real Estate Capital Markets Practice and managing partner of the Raleigh, N.C. office.

He is a frequent speaker on topics related to cross border finance, REITs, innovative financing structures and mergers and acquisitions, having spoken at numerous conferences and university programs around the world.

Markoff will focus on helping to expand the firm's Capital Markets Practice, including its growing cross border practice with China, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Markoff earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University in Durham, N.C., and his law degree from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, MO. Markoff is admitted in Missouri and North Carolina (inactive) and is taking steps to be admitted in California.
