BookKeeping Express Appoints New Chief to Advance Industry Disruption

Financial Reporting Franchise Names Keith Mueller CEO

TYSONS CORNER, Va., Oct. 14, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Keith Mueller, a 27-year managing partner of Accenture plc, a global organization that provides management consulting, technology and outsourcing services, was named the CEO of BookKeeping Express after serving on the board of the franchise company since 2010. Credited with helping to build the BookKeeping Express Team Center as a board member, Mueller's objectives are to bring cutting edge modernization to business bookkeeping and to provide further value to the brand's clients by better integrating people, processes and technology.

By combining technology and people, BookKeeping Express offers a much-needed service to small and medium sized businesses by offering a full range of bookkeeping, management, accounting and financial reporting services traditionally only reserved for big corporations. Mueller, who's been in retirement since 2009, said he was motivated to join BookKeeping Express to better enable entrepreneurs to work on their business rather than in their business.

"Today's small business owners are feeling the pressure. Rather than converging to grow their businesses, countless hours are dedicated to learning and maintaining complex back office functions. That's where we come in. That's where we are changing the game," Mueller said. "I joined BookKeeping Express as CEO because we have an incredibly unique opportunity to help small to midsize business owners boost their bottom line and turn the entire bookkeeping industry on its head in the process."

As CEO, Mueller will put an even higher emphasis on developing the processes, technologies and people to benefit the end user small business owner. For what competitors charge for only journal entry, Mueller went on to note, BookKeeping Express offers services such as bill pay, payroll and financial reporting in real time. BookKeeping Express is able to offer this suite of services by integrating all different pieces of software with the company's industrial strength Team Center as well as by utilizing the latest, secure cloud-based technology.

All information is available through the BKE Connect system, which allows businesses remote access to all bookkeeping files through an outside server. Organizations receive timely, accurate and prompt monthly reports from franchisees that are essential to managing the system.

Greg S. Jones, who held the CEO position, will continue on as the Chairman of the Board along with being active with the BookKeeping Express Sales channels. Founded in 1984, BookKeeping Express is the first and only franchise to take an entrepreneurial approach to business bookkeeping.

"Keith brings the leadership, technological acumen and vision to take BookKeeping Express to new heights and make major progress on our system's priorities," Jones said. "Attracting someone of Keith's business know-how and esteemed reputation is a true testament to our business model and trailblazing technologies."
