LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 29, 2013) - A crowd of 40,000 enthusiastic fans filled the San Manuel Amphitheater and Grounds in San Bernardino, Calif., on Saturday, October 26, for Insomniac's third annual Escape from Wonderland. The picturesque landscape was completely transformed into a haunted playground filled with three detailed mazes and haunts, seven interactive art installations, five elaborate stages of music and over 100 costumed, roaming theatrical performers.
"For the third edition of Escape from Wonderland, it was our goal to take our fans through an immersive Halloween world by bringing our artistry, stage production and theatrical concepts to a darker place," said Pasquale Rotella, CEO and founder of Insomniac. "The crowd's reaction to our Grim Reaper stage was all that we'd hoped for and their creative costumes, high energy and enthusiasm truly inspired us for 2014's Escape on Halloween night."
A Halloween themed backdrop of bats and pumpkins surrounded Insomniac's newest scenic stage as a 40-foot ghost white Grim Reaper towered over the crowd. High-resolution LED screens powered the reaper's expressive eyes, while its head rotated 30 degrees to peer out at the entire audience. More than 30 eclectic artists, from today's most prominent DJs to emerging talent from around the world, entertained fans on five elaborately designed stages of music.
Similar to Nocturnal Wonderland, festivalgoers were able to extend their journey throughout the entire weekend by sleeping under the stars at Camp Escape, an area specifically for campers adjacent to the festivalgrounds. Campers enjoyed a variety of activities by day including pumpkin decorating, totem pole creation, Frisbee golf and a silent disco at night.
