Redwood City, Calif. and Sao Paulo, Nov. 4, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Informatica Corporation (Nasdaq:INFA), the world's number one independent provider of data integration software, today announced that Banco Volkswagen has standardized on Informatica to increase revenues, enhance customer loyalty and grow market share. Banco Volkswagen chose Informatica MDM over four competing solutions. The Brazilian financial services division of the leading German automotive group Volkswagen is deploying a best-in-class master data management (MDM) strategy, based on Informatica, to create a single, trusted view of more than 900,000 customers across the company's complete portfolio of vehicle finance and retail banking services.
By unleashing the potential of Banco Volkswagen's customer, product, financial and other data, the Informatica MDMrollout is an important step, which will enable the company to more effectively cross-sell and up-sell complementary financial products across all the vehicle brands - including Volkswagen, Audi, Ducati and MAN Trucks - as well as the company's banking services. By moving closer to these customers, Banco Volkswagen also will be uniquely positioned to maintain more intimate and rewarding customer relationships across its lines of business.
"Informatica will provide Banco Volkswagen with a trusted, 360-degree customer view, which will enable our sales, marketing and customer support teams to grow revenue from existing financial services customers," says Rafael Rolla, chief information officer, Banco Volkswagen. "This customer view also will enable the company to develop financial solutions aligned to the different consumer profiles and support automotive dealers and the banking network in their daily operations."
Banco Volkswagen is the financial services subsidiary in Brazil of the VW Financial Services AG part of Volkswagen A.G. The company has embarked on a multi-year business transformation strategy aimed at innovation, agility and customer success. As part of this re-alignment, the company needed to take control of its data. Previously, data concerning each customer, their relationship history, the vehicle they finance through the company, banking services and other data was hidden away in difficult to reach areas of the business. The company realized it needed a single, trusted, and complete view of this data - and to link it across the organization.
Banco Volkswagen's customer-centric strategy will unleash the power of the company's data. Enterprise-grade Informatica MDM technology, all powered by Informatica Vibe, the industry's first and only embeddable virtual data machine (VDM), will empower business users with consolidated and reliable business-critical data, and the relationships between that data. Informatica's Data Quality and AddressDoctor solutions also played a key role in assigning data consistency and addresses validation rules to customers' information.
For example, Banco Volkswagen's marketing professionals will use their trusted view of each customer's profile, their vehicle purchase history and vehicle finance policy to define strategies for cross-selling and up-selling complementary insurance, warranty and other automotive products. Simultaneously, reliable knowledge of their banking needs, preferences and behavior might lead them to propose complementary financial solutions.
The marketing team will share that single customer view, enabling it to develop, execute and rapidly analyze the results of multi-phase, multi-channel marketing campaigns geared to winning new customers and retaining existing ones. High-quality data will give the sales team greater flexibility and agility in filling customer data at the time of a credit application. It also will result in more accurate targeting and will reduce the significant annual cost incurred due to data quality issues.
Customer support teams in Brazil also will use their deep knowledge of each customer to provide responsive and rewarding services across its lines of business. Banco Volkswagen chose Informatica MDM over four competing solutions, based on a number of factors. Informatica MDM enables the company to accelerate the time- to-value for this business transformation strategy, based on the tightly integrated suite of MDM modules that require minimal customization. Second, Informatica MDM is a low-risk solution, given the proven capabilities of the MDM technology across so many deployments worldwide. The existing, highly successful relationship between Informatica and Banco Volkswagen for data integration also demonstrated Informatica's responsiveness, skills and professionalism.
"Informatica and Banco Volkswagen have worked closely since the beginning of our relationship, and we look forward to a long and successful collaboration," said Orlando Cintra, Informatica Brazil country manager.
