Rhizen Pharmaceuticals S.A. announces preclinical presentations on RP6530, a dual PI3K delta/gamma inhibitor, for the treatment of hematological malignancies at the 55th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology, 2013

La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Nov. 19, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rhizen Pharmaceuticals S.A. announces poster presentations for its clinical lead, RP6530, a novel, dual Phosphoinositide-3 kinase (PI3K) delta/gamma inhibitor, in B & T-cell Lymphomas, at the Annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) 2013 to be held from December 07-10, at New Orleans, LA.

PI3K delta and gamma isoforms are known to contribute to the development, maintenance, transformation, and proliferation of immune cells. The high level expression of these isoforms in hematopoietic cells including the T & B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages and neutrophils, renders dual targeting of PI3K delta and gamma an attractive approach for the treatment of lymphomas.

RP6530 is a best-in-class, highly selective, equipotent, and orally active dual PI3K delta/gamma inhibitor with impressive activity against several cell types representative of various leukemias/lymphomas. RP6530 is poised to enter clinical development in Q4 2013.

Details of the presentations:

  • Title: "Dual PI3Kδ/γ Inhibition by RP6530 Induces Apoptosis and Cytotoxicity in B-Lymphoma Cells" (Abstract Publication Number :4411)
  • Title: "RP6530, a Dual PI3Kδ/γ Inhibitor, Attenuates AKT Phosphorylation and Induces Apoptosis In Primary Cutaneous T Cell Lymphoma (CTCL) Cells (Abstract  Publication Number : 4418)

Date and Time: 09th Dec 2013, 6.00 - 8.00 pm

Location: Oral & Poster Abstracts Program; Session : 625, Lymphoma : Pre-clinical-Chemotherapy and Biologic agents : Poster III   at the Hall G at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, LA.
