CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Nov. 25, 2013) - The Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) hosted the opening ceremony for its 2013 Fall Conference and Tran-Expo this Monday morning, 25 November.
This year's theme for the Conference, Transforming the Customer Experience, focuses on the industry's commitment to quality service to our customers. The conference will provide learning opportunities through case studies and best practices to enhance technologies, improve our infrastructure, and to rethink the way we organize and deliver our services.
"Our Government recognizes that modern, safe and efficient public transit is vital to the prosperity and livability of our communities," said the Minister Lebel as he spoke to delegates at the opening breakfast reception. "In Economic Action Plan 2013, our Government has demonstrated once again its commitment to public transit. Public transit is an eligible category for investment under the $53-billion New Building Canada Plan. I look forward to seeing the projects these funds will support."
CUTA's Trans-Expo is held in conjunction with the CUTA Fall Conference, which will run from November 23 to 27. Calgary Transit will host over 450 public transit professionals from across North America at the Hyatt Regency.
The Canadian Urban Transit Association represents public transit systems, manufacturers and case studies suppliers to the industry, government agencies, individuals and related organizations in Canada.
