OMAHA, Neb., Dec. 3, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Infogroup, the leading provider of high-value data and multichannel marketing solutions, recently worked with Lincoln Electric System (LES), an electric utility company in Lincoln, Neb. to conduct a survey of LES' residential customers in order to gauge interest in renewable energy.
The survey of over 400 adults concluded that customers want renewable power and are split in their interest in paying more for it. Seventy-six percent viewed renewable energy in a positive light with 44 percent indicating that they were not willing to pay any increases associated with renewable energy. Of the 56 percent that were willing to pay more for renewable energy, 26 percent of them said they would pay $1 to $5 more per month.
"We hired Infogroup to do an independent analysis in order to make the survey as neutral as possible on any of the issues that were asked," said Marc Shkolnick, LES' manager of energy services. "The results give a strong indication of our customers' opinions on renewable energy and will help us keep these insights at the forefront as we shape future energy programs to engage the community."
Infogroup Government Services, the state and local government division at Infogroup, works with government agencies to design, conduct and analyze surveys aimed at community residents.
"We leverage our deep Big Data expertise to draw out insights from our clients' data as well as our database of over 235 million consumers and 25 million businesses," said Allan Benek, vice president, Infogroup Government Services. "Having a strict focus on state and local government clients for over 30 years allows us to provide custom solutions targeted for their specific needs."
