Marty Giles, dealer principal at NorthStar Ford Group, said, "One of our core values at NorthStar is to always support the communities that support us. Our initiative to support Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation and Edge School Foundation has been so incredible that we've decided to do it a third time! It's amazing what a small group of people can accomplish when they come together. For all those who do not know how to play, we will have a lesson prior to playing, and at last year's final table, we had three rookies."
In 2013, the poker tournament raised more than $106,000 in monetary funds for Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation, which provides resources for children's health needs, research and family-centered care and Edge School Foundation. The foundation secures friends and funds through building relationships to support the Edge School in areas such as programs, scholarships and financial aid. All proceeds collected from this year's tournament will benefit the two foundations.
Registration costs $200 per person and gives people a chance to compete for $7,500 in cash prizes, which will go to the top 10 players. To learn more or to pre-register for the event, please contact Cherie Haynes by calling 403-208-6305 or by email at chaynes@northstarfordlincoln.ca.
