TAMPA, FL--(Marketwired - Feb 12, 2014) - MedHOK, a leader in providing a single platform for care, quality and compliance for health plans, pharmacy benefits managers (PBMs) and other risk-bearing entities, announced today the appointment of Troy Smith as chief operating officer (COO). In this role, Smith will manage and oversee all post-sales activities including platform implementation, infrastructure support and configuration management and project management, as well as development support for implementations.

Prior to joining MedHOK, Smith was a partner at Computer Sciences Corporation, providing health plan clients with business optimization, information technology strategy and enterprise architecture. He also served as the chief executive officer (CEO) and COO at Hometown Health Plan, where he was responsible for strategic plan development, business development, day-to-day operations and profit and loss for the entire organization.
Smith received a bachelor's degree in finance and a Master of Business Administration from Florida State University. He is the past president of the Nevada Association of Health Plans, served as a mentor for the America's Health Insurance Plan Foundation Executive Leadership Program and was on the Board of Directors of the Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority and High Sierra Industries.
