Meltwater Acquires Findwise Search Center of Excellence AB and Opens New R&D Center in Gothenburg, Sweden

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 19, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Meltwater, the leading provider of online intelligence solutions delivering big data insights, and Findwise AB, an award winning Swedish search consultancy, today announce Meltwater's acquisition of the Findwise subsidiary Findwise Search Center of Excellence AB. The acquisition, Meltwater's sixth in five years, aims to strengthen the company's engineering organization with the development of a global R &D center. The acquisition brings 16 new employees and solidifies Gothenburg as the 7th R &D center in Meltwater's global network.

The acquired Findwise team will be central in Meltwater's development of innovative big data software infrastructure projects. Meltwater's acquisition further cements its commitment to innovation in big data and actionable business insights. The combined work of the Meltwater and Findwise team will advance the company's competitive market position and accelerate new product time-to-market. The fruits of these efforts will be recognized through a series of product releases in 2014.
