(ANSHealth) announced a partnership with CoverMyMeds (CMM) to provide an automated prior authorization (PA) solution through its open source, enterprise pharmacy management software, ePostRx. Automating the PA process for pharmacists reduces administrative burden and improves turnaround time for determinations, helping patients get their medications as fast as possible.

When an ePostRx user receives a rejection notice that a prior authorization is required, the CMM integration can seamlessly use patient demographics and prescription details to choose and populate the correct PA request before sending it to the patient's health insurance plan directly or, if necessary, to the prescriber to complete and send.
