PuroClean to Appear on Tonight's Episode of TLC's Hoarding: Buried Alive

Property Restoration Franchise Conquers Cockroaches, Endless Trash to Help Philadelphia Homeowner

TAMARAC, Fla., March 19, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- PuroClean, the nation's premier franchise specializing in property emergency restoration services, offers services for homeowners ranging from water and fire damage, to mold removal and biohazard cleanup, which includes filth cleanup and packrat cleanup services—often used in the homes of hoarders. PuroClean workers will be taking on the home of a Philadelphia hoarder on the hit TLC series "Hoarding: Buried Alive" tonight, March 19 (9:00-10:00 PM ET) on the TLC Network.

Currently in its fifth season, "Hoarding: Buried Alive" is a documentary television series on TLC that explores the psychology of hoarders' shocking attachments to seemingly worthless objects, examining hoarders as they attempt to regain control of their lives and extreme behaviors with the help of expert therapists and professional organizers.

Harry Allcroft, owner of the PuroClean of Delran in New Jersey, has helped restore the homes of many hoarders since he first opened this business in 2007. However, it wasn't until late last year when Allcroft discovered the home of a Philadelphia hoarder that he knew would be a fit for the show.

After contacting the show, "Hoarding: Buried Alive" travelled to the Philadelphia home in December 2013 and filmed the episode. Infested by cockroaches and filled with boxes of trash, old food, insect detritus, and more, employees from both the PuroClean locations of Delran and Philadelphia, owned by Patti White, were utilized to handle the logistics of the trash removal and cleanup at the home. The PuroClean crew removed seven dumpsters of materials from the 1,700 square foot home. They assisted with the clean-up portion on the final day of filming, too.

"Hoarding is a major problem in this country that many people do not recognize," said Allcroft. "Here at PuroClean, our main goal is to help people who are stuck in an out-of-control circumstance, whether it's soot, mold, water or even endless amounts of trash. Helping people with hoarding problems is becoming a commonly utilized service for us here in New Jersey and Philadelphia. To have the opportunity to be on a national show, doing what we do best and helping improve a person's life, is an experience that my employees and I will never forget."
